Completing a superior ICF installation
Accurate wall layout is critical to ensure a complete and superior ICF installation.
STEP 1
Verify that wall layout is in accordance with plans and specifications.
STEP 2
To ensure accurate 90° corners, use methods such as:
- Equal diagonal measurements/cross square
- 3-4-5 triangle
- Surveying
STEP 3
To ensure accurate 45° corners use the 1-1 method, or surveying tools.
STEP 4
Snap chalk lines on footings or slab according to plan.
STEP 5
Make sure the outside face of the ICF forms lines up with the overall building dimensions.
Some plans mark measurements in odd locations. Double check what side of the wall your measurements are located.
ICF is extremely versatile and can be manipulated to obtain any angle you may require. ICF forms are made for 90° corners and 45° but can be mitered for other angles as well. ICF can also be bent or cut into sections to fit any kind of radius wall
